For the second year in a row, Croke Park played host to the Muslim celebration of Eid Al Adha.
The GAA headquarters welcomed 500 members of the Irish Muslim community for prayers on the pitch this morning, an increase from the 200 people who attended the same event in 2020.
Shaykh Dr Umar Al-Qadri, chairman of the Irish Muslim Peace and Integration Council, led the Eid prayers and quoted legendary Cork hurler Christy Ring during his sermon, saying Let no-one say the best hurlers belong to the past, they are with us now and better yet to come.”
