Ohio s most colorful son, Guy Fieri, is sending a little love from Flavortown to Lordstown.
The celebrity chef on Tuesday quote-tweeted a post from Ohio-basewd electric truck startup Lordstown Motors about its first pre-production beta build trucks to come off of its assembly line. Congrats on the Betas and good luck in Baja, Fieri wrote.
Fieri was referring to Lordstown s upcoming entry in the San Felipe 250 off-road race, where it hopes its Endurance pickup will become the first to complete the grueling event. (Lordstown Motors)
It s not clear why Fieri, who was born in Columbus, gave Lordstown the shout-out, and neither his representatives nor the automaker s have responded to requests for comment from Fox News Autos.

The automaker will build an electric Chevrolet Silverado pickup at its Factory ZERO electric truck plant in Detroit-Hamtramck, Mich.
The full-size pickup will use GM s Ultium electric vehicle platform, which launches this fall with the GMC HUMMER EV SUT pickup.
Details and images of the Silverado have not been released, but GM President Mark Reuss confirmed it will offer over 400 miles of range between charges and be available in retail and commercial models.
An exact release date for the Silverado was not revealed, but GM is planning to introduce 30 electric vehicles globally by 2025 and the HUMMER EV pickup and SUV go on sale in late 2021 and early 2023, respectively.

Lordstown Motors officially introduced Endurance last summer, and immediately started taking pre-orders for it. Billed as the toughest and most reliable pickup, Endurance aims to be the first-to-market electric pickup in the world.
Just last month, short-seller Hindenburg Research published a very damning report about how Lordstown CEO Steve Burns built the Endurance “mirage” on a heap of lies, non-binding Letters of Intent (LOIs) disguised as firm orders, and misleading information. Now under investigation by the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) and conducting its own separate review, Lordstown maintains innocence.
