An all-electric RV? We re so down.
Lordstown Motors, the all-electric truck company that now occupies the sprawling Lordstown, Ohio manufacturing facility previously home to the Chevrolet Cruze, has a new announcement that ll appeal to RV enthusiasts and future Endurance truck owners.
The EV truck company has joined forces with Camping World, America s largest retailer of RVs to create a nationwide collision repair and service network for Endurance owners. Camping World could also potentially sell Endurance trucks.
The second piece of news is that Lordstown will provide its platform for a new all-electric high-volume RV. Lithium-ion battery packs for travel trailers are also included in the agreement as they re the ideal replacement for gasoline onboard generators.
It’s also not affordable to retirees that want to enjoy America with their grandkids.
Burns said that they’ll be working with an existing manufacturer on the trailers, but will be following it up with an even more ambitious all-electric van-type motorhome based on the Endurance. (Lordstown Motors)
The full-size pickup features a skateboard style chassis that includes the battery and the entire four-wheel-drivetrain, which makes it relatively easy to accommodate different body styles. Burns has even demonstrated how the platform can be driven without any body on it at all. (Lordstown Motors)
An image of the proposed model has not been released, but Burns told Fox News Autos that it will be similar to a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter or Ram ProMaster, both of which are used for Class B RV conversions. Camping World currently offers several Ram-based models built by Thor.
Lordstown Motors has released a video showcasing some of the early testing being conducted to get the all-electric Endurance pickup truck ready for the production line next year.
The automaker has begun constructing its ‘Alpha’ prototypes, which are essentially vehicles that rock the chassis and hub motors – and not much else. According to company founder and chief executive Steve Burns, the lack of body panels allows Lordstown Motors to see everything that’s going on that would ordinarily be hidden by the body.
Throughout the clip, Burns drives the prototype through muddy trails in pouring rain to show how capable the Endurance is in treacherous conditions. He is even filmed driving the prototype in the snow.

WASHINGTON – The Treasury Department has branded Vietnam and Switzerland as currency manipulators while putting China and nine other countries on a watch list in an annual report designed to stop countries from manipulating their currencies to gain unfair trade advantages.
It marked the first time the United States has labeled another country as a currency manipulator since August 2019, when it called out China at a time when the world s two largest economies were locked in tense trade negotiations.
The Trump administration removed the designation from China in January after the two countries achieved trade agreements aimed at lowering China s huge trade surplus with the U.S.
