Backpack slung over his shoulder, J-Tech Institute student Marcel Alexander had just wrapped up classes when he climbed into the white crew cab pickup truck in one of the technical training school s new classrooms.
While diesel mechanics is Alexander s program of study, the prototype Lordstown Motors Endurance truck and its alternative propulsion method intrigued him.
There s no fossil-fueled V-8 inside it. Instead, Endurance is motivated by electric motors at each wheel. The EV pickup was in Jacksonville last week as one of many visits to come nationwide to show it off.
For technical trainees like Alexander, electric tech could be his future.
