Judas and the Black Messiah,
Minari,
Mank and
Promising Young Woman.
The filmâs leading lady, Frances McDormand, took out the award for best actress in a leading role (for the third time in her career). Anthony Hopkins won best actor for his work in
The Father.

Nomadland filmmaker also won best director, becoming just the second woman in the 93 years of the Academy Awards to win the award and the first woman of colour.

Netflix s Mank led nominations with 10, including best picture, best directing, best actor in a leading role, and best actress in a leading role. Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, Ma Rainey s Black Bottom, and Soul were also among the films nominated for awards.
