Los Angeles County just announced, places of worship are allowed to resume indoor services, with some restrictions. The Los Angeles County Health Officer Order was modified to align with recent Supreme Court rulings for houses of worship. The court ruled that both indoor and outdoor places of worship must implement mandatory physical distancing and face coverings over both the nose and mouth that must be worn at all times while on site. Even though indoor churches are allowed to resume, LA county still strongly recommends that places of worship continue to hold services outdoors, with physical distancing and face coverings to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
LA County is now moving towards becoming the epicenter of the pandemic, he said. We are not at the stage yet at which other parts of the world, including in the United States, have suffered catastrophic consequences, but we are heading in that direction. Stay-at-home orders for the Sacramento region are likely to be extended, state officials announced Thursday, as intensive care unit capacity continued to stay low.
The region fell under the state s regional stay-at-home order Dec. 10, after intensive care unit capacity dropped below the state s 15% threshold to remain open. Under the orders, businesses such as barbershops and nail salons must close, while retail stores can stay open at 20% capacity and restaurants are limited to takeout-only.
