Britney Spears’ attorney has filed a motion to resign from his role as her counsel, almost two weeks after the pop singer testified that she wanted to choose her own lawyer in her conservatorship.
Samuel D. Ingham III, who was appointed to Spears’ case in 2008, told the Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday he will resign as soon as a new counsel is selected for the singer. In her June 23 testimony, Spears told Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Brenda Penny that she wanted the right to pick her own attorney.

Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer is accused of assault, currently under investigation by Pasadena police and Major League Baseball, per multiplereports. The news was first reported by TMZ.
A domestic violence restraining order against Bauer was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday, with a hearing set for July 23, court records show.
Pasadena police detectives are investigating allegations that Bauer assaulted the woman in the city on or about May 16, said Lt. William Grisafe, spokesman for the department.
The victim filed a police report with the department in May. The allegations are being investigated as a felony assault, Grisafe said. Detectives have since interviewed Bauer.
