LHPC represents all 16 of the non-profit, community-based local health plans in California, which provide health coverage to more than 70% of the 11.3 million members enrolled in Medi-Cal managed care. Liz Gibboney, board chair of LHPC and CEO of Partnership HealthPlan of California, said:
“The LHPC Board is thrilled to name Linnea as the association’s next CEO. She has deep Medi-Cal policy experience, is an excellent communicator, and is firmly committed to the local plan model. We know that she will lead the association through the extraordinary opportunities offered through the CalAIM waiver process.”
Cook with gratitude during free virtual workshop
Another “Bridging Wellness” event on Sunday, May 23 is a virtual cooking workshop centered around mindfulness and gratitude in the kitchen. The workshop will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
Cooks of all levels are invited to this event hosted by Bebot Community Kitchen and AC Boral.
All ingredients will be provided, but basic kitchen supplies will be needed.
The menu will be:
Honey garlic stir fry and jasmine rice (choice of chicken or tofu)
Fresh mint and watermelon soda

Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a motion by Supervisor Kathryn Barger and coauthored by Supervisor Holly Mitchell that will allow the Department of Mental Health to accept a $2.9 million grant from the California Health Facilities Financing Authority to develop 12 Crisis Stabilization Unit beds for children at the Olive View-UCLA Medical Center and the Martin Luther King Jr. Child and Family Wellbeing Center.
