Los Angeles County removes hours restrictions for bars, breweries, wineries

LOS ANGELES - Those looking to grab drinks (responsibly) in Los Angeles County can now keep their tabs open a little longer.
Los Angeles County health officials announced bars, breweries and wineries will no longer need to operate under hours restrictions.
Officially in effect, as of Friday, April 30, bars, breweries and wineries in Los Angeles County will no longer have to close early, according to the county s Public Health Department.
Employees who are fully vaccinated at food service facilities now have the option of wearing a face shield to go with their face masks when in close contact with customers, LA County Public Health said in a press release. Employees still have to wear a mask at work, the county said in a press release.

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Anyone 16 years old or over can get a free COVID-19 vaccine today without an appointment at the Pico Union Project.
The vaccination site, located at 1153 Valencia St., will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., according to Councilman Gil Cedillo, who is co-hosting the event with the Pico Union Project. People who receive a vaccine will also get a free bag of produce.
“Although more people are getting vaccinated, we all must continue to wear masks, practice social distancing, not gather with people outside of our household, wash our hands regularly and get vaccinated, Cedillo said.

Providers throughout California have now administered 30 million total doses of COVID-19 vaccine a milestone that, though promising, comes amid rising concerns that interest in the shots may be starting to wane.
The abrupt about-face from a situation in which demand for doses far outstripped supply to one in which appointments are readily available is alarming. Health officials note that, for all the progress California has made against COVID-19, the battle is not yet over.
“The best tool we have for allowing us to stay on this recovery path is the vaccine,” Los Angeles County Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer said this week.
