LOS ANGELES (AP) An East Los Angeles woman was charged Wednesday with killing her three children, including a baby, earlier this week.
Sandra Chico, 28, was expected to appear in court to be arraigned on three counts each of murder and assault on a child causing death, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement.
The children were found dead in a bedroom of their home on Monday. Authorities have said there were no obvious signs of trauma, and the prosecution statement did not specify the cause of death.
Chico was initially detained, and authorities announced her arrest on Tuesday. It’s not known if she has an attorney.

Sheriff s deputies responded to a residence in the 600 block of Ferris Avenue at about 12:45 p.m. Monday after receiving a report that two children at the home were not breathing, according to Lt. Charles Calderaro. Deputies found two boys and a girl in the home and none of the children was breathing, he said.
Paramedics were called, but all three children were pronounced dead at the scene.

LONG BEACH (CNS) - Criminal charges were filed today against a Long Beach man who was allegedly driving drunk when he struck and killed a man in a wheelchair in an unmarked crosswalk.
Joseph Maez, 26, is set to be arraigned July 2 on one felony count each of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury and driving with a 0.08% blood-alcohol content causing injury, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney s Office.
Maez, was allegedly driving the Honda Civic that struck the 59-year-old man pushing a cart full of his belongings across Stearn Street at Radnor Avenue in the Los Altos neighborhood of Long Beach at 11:19 p.m. June 12, authorities said.
