Tiger Woods crash caused by excessive speeds roughly 40 mph over limit, LA sheriffs say

 | Print this article Tiger Woods s extreme car crash in February was caused due to excessive speed, the Los Angeles County Sheriff s Office announced Wednesday. Woods was traveling at estimated speeds of 84 to 87 miles per hour, above the 45 mph limit, when he lost control of his loaned 2021 Genesis GV80 in Southern California on Feb. 23, authorities revealed. The primary causal factor for this traffic collision was driving at a speed unsafe for the road conditions and the inability to negotiate the curve of the roadway, Sheriff Alex Villanueva said during a press conference. Woods will not face charges or citations related to the accident. Villanueva denied the golfer received any special or preferential treatment of some kind.

Investigators said that Tiger did not hit his brakes but instead inadvertently pressed the accelerator as he spun out of control. When you panic . your initial thought is to hit the brake.
