Tiger Woods is back home and recovering after undergoing surgery following a serious car crash that left him badly injured last month. He took to Twitter Tuesday to reveal that he is back home and working on getting stronger every day. Happy to report that I am back home and continuing my recovery, Woods said the statement. I am so grateful for the outpouring of support and encouragement that I have received over the past few weeks.
When aides to Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva wanted to build a helicopter landing pad near the sheriff’s home, they sought help from a familiar face.
J. Isaac Gonzalez, a former sheriff’s deputy, now works for the parent company of the Southern California Gas Co. The utility owns a plot of land on a hill above Villanueva’s La Habra Heights house that sheriff’s officials decided was a suitable spot for a helicopter to land in an emergency.
“Sounds easy,” Gonzalez texted to a Sheriff’s Department lieutenant who had pressed him to get the gas company’s approval for the project.
Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva on Wednesday denied that deputies gave Tiger Woods a break in their investigation of the rollover crash that left him hospitalized, but also said his agency needs more drug recognition experts.
Villanueva had quickly labeled the Feb. 23 crash as “purely an accident,” saying there was “no evidence of any impairment whatsoever” even though the golfer told authorities he does not remember the crash.
Sheriff’s investigators did not seek a warrant in the hours after the crash to run toxicology reports to see if Woods was drunk or under the influence of drugs.
“I know there’s been a lot of concern about, was he received any treatment any different than anybody else he did not. He received the same treatment everybody else would receive,” Villanueva said Wednesday. “One, there’s no obvious evidence of impairment, and he’s compound fracture in a horrendous scene. Tiger Woods has shared a health update after his near-fatal car crash.
On February 23, the golfer was involved in a single vehicle crash in California, and was removed for the wreck by firefighters and paramedics using the ‘jaws of life’.
After being transported to hospital, the 45-year-old underwent surgery after suffering “multiple leg injuries”.
Taking to Twitter on Tuesday, the sports star revealed he was back home and recovering.
He wrote: “Happy to report that I am back home and continuing my recovery. I am so grateful for the outpouring of support and encouragement that I have received over the past few weeks.”
