Lashunda Scales, Chris Woods in Race for Birmingham Mayor

Jefferson County Commissioner Lashunda Scales and local businessman Chris Woods are running for mayor of Birmingham.  Scales, elected to the commission in 2018 where she serves as president pro tempore, announced her candidacy for mayor this week. Woods Contracting Services Inc. in 1989, Woods was a four-year letterman with the Auburn University football team and later went on to play a brief professional stint with the Los Angeles Raiders alongside former Auburn teammate Bo Jackson.
