  Since the first week of December, deaths at Henry Mayo have increased by 46%, from 39 to 57, while hospitalizations have increased by just over 51%, from 52 to 79, according to a comparison of data released by Henry Mayo. As of last Friday, Dec. 18, Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital has conducted 14,110 COVID-19 tests. Of those, 1,936 have tested positive, and 24 tests are still pending with Henry Mayo, according to Moody. There are 79 patients in the hospital as of Friday, Dec. 18, while 538 patients have been discharged since the hospital’s first case was reported in March, according to Moody.
