In the
red states they reported that when business interests got their tax breaks, rescue packages, and roll back of government regulations, they supported the former president’s political base of anti-abortionists, anti-maskers, anti-vaxxers, firearm fanatics, nativists, and assorted racists. Well-known Trump political donors, such as the Walton, Mercer, and Adelson families, plus another 58 billionaires identified by Fortune Magazine, bit the bullet in exchange for trillions in Federal government wealthfare.
But, in the
blue states few pundits have described a similar process. Major commercial interests stomach the Democratic Party’s liberal base as long as it votes for candidates who support the arms, hydrocarbon, and real estate industries. At the local level this is painfully obvious since 60 percent of all investment assets are in real estate holdings. These

BACKYARD of Brookside home shows bridges over stream in March 2018.
Brookside’s stream, El Rio del Jardin de las Flores, has had some highs and lows over the last few years, both in the amount of water moving through the streambed, and in the ongoing research to preserve the stream.
Last September, Brookside resident Nancy Levine reached out to the
Larchmont Chronicle with an update, letting us know that while the stream seems to have a normal flow where it “daylights,” just south of Wilshire Boulevard, that the flow was weak between 8th and 9th Streets, and dry where it flows south of 9th Street. Residents were also concerned about flourishing mosquito populations because of the standing water. They have been working with the Watershed Protection Division of Los Angeles Sanitation and field deputies from Council District Four to get answers. Levine contacted us and wondered if we could help.

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Councilmen Joe Buscaino and John Lee joined park rangers today to call on the City Council to change the Los Angeles Municipal Code and arm the city s 30 park rangers.
“During this pandemic, our parks have proven to become so much more important than they used to be, and it s just as important to make sure that we protect the people who visit these spaces, said Lee, who is the newly appointed chair of the council s Parks and Recreation Committee. “Our brave park rangers are often the first responders, and unfortunately tides are changing where I believe over 70% of the things that they respond to are regarding law enforcement issues.
