HOLLYWOOD (CNS) - Streets were closed in a section of Hollywood this morning as police investigated a shooting at a gathering that left one man dead and sent three men to hospitals with gunshot wounds.
The shootings were reported at 10:16 p.m. Sunday at 6112 W. Afton Place, said the Los Angeles Fire Department s Brian Humphrey.
The victims were all men in their 30s and 50s, according to a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department s Operations Center.
The shootings happened at a gathering, he said.
A detective at the scene told Fox11 that officers on patrol heard gunshots and found 30 to 40 people in the street when they arrived. He said two males approached the home on foot and fired into the residence and that one of the victims may have fired back.
Wabash Avenue Shooting
In the first shooting, one man was killed and another was wounded in a shooting reported at 8:46 p.m. near 3024 Wabash Ave., according to a dispatcher at the Los Angeles Police Department s Operations Center.
Both men were described as between the ages of 25 and 30, she said.
