BURLINGTON - The town of Burlingtonâs âredâ designation isnât going anywhere soon after data revealed more bad news regarding the recent spike in positive COVID-19 cases.
As of this past Thursdayâs data reveal, the community sits uncomfortably at 781 confirmed cases (was 648 eight days ago). In the last two weeks, there have been 239 total positive tests with a 7.21 percent positivity rate during that 14-day period, which is higher than it was last week this time. Last Thursday, the number of positive cases over the 14-day period was 163 with a 5.31 percent positivity rate.
Since March, the total number of positive tests in Burlington is 781, as of this past Thursday at 5 p.m. The average daily incidence rate per 100,000 in the last two weeks is 57.8 (was 38.77 last Thursday), leaving the town in the âredâ group designation for the second straight week. These figures are all higher than they were the last time the data was revealed last Thursday.

1. The collaboration will include a focus on the NOBLE trial, a 9,000-patient, prospective, multicenter clinical study designed to distinguish genomic and other differences in lung cancer development and progression among patients with lung nodules detected by CT imaging. As Veracyte plans for the 2021 launch of the first noninvasive nasal swab test to guide the work-up of patients with potentially cancerous lung nodules, this new study will position the company to develop future tests that benefit broader patient populations, including nonsmokers and those with pre-cancerous changes who are likely to develop lung cancer.

Police identify 35-year-old Michael Creech as man killed in rollover crash in Wakefield

Authorities identified 35-year-old Michael Creech as the victim of a fatal rollover crash Tuesday morning in Wakefield.
The Weymouth man was driving a 2003 Toyota Corolla south on Interstate 95 shortly before 5:30 a.m. when his car collided with a 2015 Jeep Wrangler and rolled over multiple times, according to a statement from Massachusetts State Police.
Creech was taken to Lahey Hospital & Medical Center in Burlington, where he was pronounced dead, the statement said.
The driver of the Jeep, a 61-year-old Saugus man, was not injured, according to the statement.

NEWBURYPORT â An Anna Jaques Hospital official said on Thursday the Highland Avenue complex is expected to receive its first shipment of the highly anticipated Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine as early as next week.Â
The announcement comes on the same day the federal Food and Drug Administration was expected to give emergency authorization for the two-dose coronavirus vaccine. Within hours of the expected authorization, the vaccine will be distributed across the country under the federal government s Operation Warp Speed initiative.Â
Anna Jaques staff will be prepared to help vaccinate the community and support the vaccine distribution process as long as is necessary.Â
