(MyNorthwest photo) Governor Jay Inslee had set a deadline of Monday, April 19, for schools statewide to return to at least a hybrid learning model for secondary students. Chris Reykdal, Superintendent of Public Instruction, said every district is poised to meet that deadline, and many are already back. “If I just look at the plurality of districts, students are back in total around the state, but where most of the students are we have 30 districts who have the vast majority of our students they are mostly in hybrids,” he said.

When Karin Naccarato began clearing out a closet in her childhood home, she pulled out an unprepossessing shoebox and discovered mementoes of the romance that began her parent’s 57-year-long marriage. Inside the box she found the dried remnants of a corsage of once white flowers, now yellow with age, an empty Champagne bottle and cork, a World War II-era cake topper with a soldier for a groom, a pair of white candles and, most unexpectedly, a 77-year-old slice of slice of wedding cake. Naccarato’s parents, Florence (Gustafson) and Lloyd Naccarato, met during World War II in Great Falls, Montana.

Margaret Copher, and sharing this with the community: Margaret Irene Copher passed on December 30, 2020. She was born March 12th, 1947 to John Copher and Beulah McJunkins. Irene was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Seattle. She was a lifelong resident of Seattle and was an active member of Philadelphia Church. Irene was a demolition-car driver in her early years, worked for Northwest Protective Service, and loved her last job as a school-bus driver. She was a lifetime member of REACT International, and was actively involved as an amateur radio operator (KF7WUD) with Puget Sound Repeater Group and West Seattle Amateur Radio Club. At the time of her passing she was not married, and is survived by cousins and a large circle of friends who loved her.
