Dave Prince and Paul Bennett of the 90’s Revival during their last lockdown set
Dave Prince and Paul Bennett of The 90s Revival have been hosting online DJ sets since the pandemic began, attracting up to 50,000 views per show.
They had hoped to be back DJ-ing at live events this year so when news of the third lockdown broke, they decided to use their lockdown sets as a platform to raise funds for charity.
The livestreams are free to watch, with supporters and sponsors donating to a different charity each week.
A survey commissioned by Cancer Research UK last year revealed that 53 per cent of 1,000 participating GPs were concerned that fewer older adults were now contacting them with cancer symptoms.
Other groups they were worried about hearing less from included patients with learning difficulties (40 per cent), those whose first language is not English (35 per cent), people from poorer backgrounds (23 per cent), members of ethnic minorities (22 per cent) and those with existing health conditions (21 per cent).
Age remains the biggest risk factor for cancer and every year more than a third (36 per cent) of all cases in the UK are diagnosed in people aged 75 and over. The awful truth however, is that cancer does not restrict itself to the elderly, and we must all – regardless of age or background – act on any signs or symptoms as soon as possible.

British Dressage (BD) has welcomed new title sponsors to two of its popular series in recent weeks.
British feed brand Saracen Horse Feeds, which already sponsors the inter I national championships, has extended its support to take on the role of Quest title sponsor for 2021.
The Quest initiative serves as a starting point for riders new to BD, with competition up to novice level and both solo and team options for riders to choose from.
“Saracen Horse Feeds has been a valued sponsor with British Dressage for a number of years, so we’re thrilled that they have extended their association with our sport by linking our ground-breaking amateur rider series with a global leader in equine nutrition,” said BD chief executive Jason Brautigam.
