Spalding motorist pleads guilty to two drink/drive offences

A Spalding motorist caught almost four times the drink-drive limit on Sunday has been given a suspended sentence.
It was the second time in a year that Andis Bergs had given a high reading and he was on bail for the first offence.
The 35-year-old was held in custody before appearing at Lincoln Magistratesâ Court on Tuesday to plead guilty to drink-driving on both occasions.
Bergs was first arrested in Spalding on May 27 last year. In custody he blew 105 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath; the legal limit being 35.

Zsolt Csipak, 32, of Goodliff Road, Grantham: admits driving a Renault vehicle in High Street, Grantham, on June 29, 2020 while using a hand-held mobile phone. He was fined £220, ordered to pay a £34 surcharge and £90 costs and his driving licence endorsed with six penalty points.

A South Lincolnshire businessman has been given an 18-week suspended prison sentence for storing and burning waste illegally at a site in Gedney Dyke, despite repeated warnings from the Environment Agency. He was also ordered to pay costs and a victim surcharge totalling nearly £7,000.
Peter Higgins, 73, the owner of PJH Bathrooms, Kitchens and Tiles Ltd, based at Yew Lodge, Hallgate, Gedney Dyke, stored waste on ground next to the company showroom without a permit for over 2 years. He was also responsible for lighting fires that released polluting chemicals into the atmosphere and caused a nuisance.
