Thousands of CityBee users have their personal data leaked online

Police in Lithuania are investigating after the personal data of 110,000 people was leaked to an online hacker website. The car-sharing service, CityBee, confirmed the records and information of thousands of its customers had been compromised in the incident. On Monday night, cybercriminals had shared users names, personal identification numbers, telephone numbers, e-mail and home addresses, driver s licence numbers, and encrypted passwords, the company said. The data had been posted for sale on an online forum registered abroad, CityBee added. It said customers financial information had not been affected. The data, which was uploaded to one of the cyber hackers favourite forums, is three years old, CityBee said in a statement.
