Lithuania s Foreign Ministry plans to launch negotiations with Minsk on the possible takeover of Belorus, a sanctioned Belarusian spa in the Lithuanian town of Druskininkai. Two committees in the Lithuanian Seimas made a decision [.] to turn to the Belarusian government with a proposal to buy this sanatorium out, Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis told reporters on Thursday, adding that the ministry will implement this proposal .
Belorus accounts were frozen by Swedbank in December last year shortly after the EU imposed sanctions against the Main Economic Office (GHU) of the Belarusian president s administration, as it is led by Viktor Sheiman who is on the EU sanction list. Minsk acquired the spa under the Lithuanian–Belarusian intergovernmental agreement of February 6, 1995.

A grove of 10,000 Lithuanian birch trees has been planted in Armenia to mark the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the Lithuania Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday. TALLINN Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania have all expelled Russian diplomats in a show of solidarity with the Czech Republic against Moscow.
Prague has accused Russian secret agents of involvement in a deadly explosion in the country in 2014.
Czech foreign and interior minister Jan Hamacek had called on European Union and NATO member states to also kick out Russian diplomats.
On Friday, Lithuania s Foreign Ministry confirmed it had summoned the country s ambassador to Moscow and declared two members of the embassy personae non-gratae .

An imposter used deepfake technology to impersonate an associate of Alexei Navalny and get access to Baltic MPs.
Žygimantas Pavilionis, chairman of the Lithuanian parliament s Foreign Affairs Committee, said he was approached by someone pretending to be Leonid Volkov. While Pavilionis found the situation suspicious, parliamentarians from Latvia, Estonia and Ukraine seem to have been duped.
Earlier on Thursday, Lithuania s Foreign Ministry issued a statement that “during the past few weeks, information attacks were carried out against Estonian, Lithuanian, and Latvian politicians”.
“These attacks were meant to spread false information, discredit Russian opposition and undermine Baltic politicians’ support for it,” the ministry said.
