Cedar Rapids Police are investigating the death of a gunshot victim early Sunday morning.
According to a CRPD news release, the victim arrived by private vehicle at Mercy Medical Center just after 2:15am Sunday. The male had suffered a gunshot wound, and died shortly after officers arrived at the hospital.
The incident is under investigation, and the victim’s name is not being released at this time pending notification of family.

Cedar Rapids Police are investigating a New Year’s Eve stabbing.
According to a CRPD news release, at 8:45 Thursday night a 38-year-old male walked into Mercy Hospital with a single, non-life-threatening stab wound. The man told investigators that he’d been stabbed in a parking lot near the Kirkwood Apartments, but was otherwise uncooperative with investigators.
