If you re heading to Atlantic City, bring your appetite.there s a new steakhouse in town, with a familiar name, according to a press release.
Dougherty s Steakhouse and Raw Bar is now open in Resorts Casino and Hotel, at the end of the iconic Atlantic City boardwalk. The Dougherty family, Atlantic City restauranteurs, have been around for many years. They have always been committed to quality and service. Four generations of the family have thrived in the local restaurant scene, growing their well known brand to include some of the best spots in town.the Knife & Fork Inn, Harry’s Oyster Bar, and Linwood Country Club.
After all, families have endured more than a year of a global pandemic.
Some moms have played the role of remote learning instructor or instructional aide in addition to the plethora of jobs they already accomplish each day.
May 9 is a chance to pay tribute to all the moms out there. (And many of them are tired of takeout, by the way.)
If you don’t want to cook or can’t cook, consider treating Mom (and maybe grandma) to brunch.
There are quite a few restaurants throughout South Jersey offering brunch on Mother’s Day. They sound simply delightful, too. Have you heard of Upright French toast? How does a seafood omelet sound? Or high tea at noon with a Craisin and white chocolate scone?
Atlantic County briefs
Atlantic County Sheriff Eric Scheffler administered the oath of office to 11 new hires on April 20.
Scheffler stated that he did not hire last year as a result of COVID-19 that caused the day-to-day functions of the courthouses to scale back dramatically. “The need to bring on additional personnel at that time could not be justified,” said Scheffler.
Now that the courts are opening back up, Scheffler felt it necessary to replenish the openings and get his organization back to almost full staff. All new hires are filling open vacancies of officers who either retired or left the agency.
