Those who don’t have online means can call the booking hotline 226-773-2200 although multiple attempts may be needed due to high call volumes. Hotline hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the weekend.
Dr. Wajid Ahmed, Medical Officer of Health, estimated that the expansion of criteria means roughly 20,000 to 30,000 more people in the region are now able to receive the vaccine at the region’s six targeted clinic sites.
The Windsor Essex County Health Unit has expanded COVID-19 vaccine eligibility at mass-vaccination sites for the general population aged 55 and older.
They say adults aged 55 years and older in 2021, born in 1966 or earlier, will be able to register to book a COVID-19 vaccination appointment at one of the vaccination sites to receive a first dose at a mass-vaccination site:

Previously adults aged 55 to 59, not in other priority groups, were only able to book an appointment if they lived in one of the area’s hot spot postal codes, or through a pharmacy (AstraZeneca).
WINDSOR, ONT. There’s been another age drop for overall COVID-19 vaccine eligibility in Windsor-Essex. As of Thursday, adults 55 years and older will be able to register to book a COVID-19 vaccination appointment.
The Ontario government released an anticipated schedule on Thursday to expand eligibility to receive the vaccine throughout May, with individuals aged 18 and older eligible to book as early as the week of May 24. All COVID-19 vaccination appointments at targeted vaccination clinics are currently for first doses only and must be scheduled through a single dedicated online booking system and can also be accessed from wevax.ca or by calling the vaccination booking call centre at 226-773-2200.

The provincial government’s announcement on Wednesday that vaccines would soon be available to those age 18 and older in COVID “hot spot” postal codes seven of which are in Windsor, Leamington, and Kingsville was news to the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit. They were still working to open up appointments to those age 50 and older in select postal codes, a change announced by Ontario Premier Doug Ford only one day prior, along with the official start of the vaccine distribution plan’s second phase.
People aged 60 and older can now register for a COVID-19 vaccine at a Windsor-Essex clinic.

People aged 60 and older can now register to get a COVID-19 vaccine at a Windsor-Essex clinic.
The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit (WECHU) announced Friday that people born in 1961 or earlier can register at one of the region s five vaccine clinics.
Vaccinations are done through appointment only at the following sites:
