Law enforcement agencies continue to receive complaints from persons being scammed out of money; especially the elderly. Please take time to explain to seniors, both family and neighbors, the pitfalls of strangers attempting to gain their trust and eventually their savings. Advise them against purchasing large amounts of gift cards and giving strangers on the phone the serial numbers. Remember, any reputable company/agency will NEVER ask for payment in this manner. CRIME STOPPERS – CRIME OF THE WEEK
On Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021, the Allen County Sheriff’s Office responded to Kohl’s located at 2750 Elida Rd, in reference to glass break and motion detection inside the business. Upon deputies arrival they observed broken glass in front of the business.
After the business was cleared employees discovered jewelry missing along with cologne and perfume. Detectives responded to the area to process the scene. Throughout their investigation, Detectives tracked footprints for approximately half-mile crossing over waterways and open fields when they eventually located a black bag believed
