Police charge man after impersonating a police officer at Camden
A man has been charged with allegedly impersonating a police officer after an incident in Sydney’s south-west last week.
About 2am on Friday (21 May 2021), two teenage girls, aged 18 and 19, were parked in a carpark on
Larkin Place, Camden, when a Hyundai iLoad pulled up alongside them.
Police will allege the Hyundai driver claimed to be a police officer and requested their identification.
The teens challenged the man and he drove off.
Police were notified and officers attached to Camden Police Area Command commenced an investigation.
Following inquiries, detectives arrested a 50-year-old man at Liverpool about 10.45am today (Tuesday 25 May 2021).

Four men have been charged after police dismantled a crime syndicate that allegedly bought $500,000 worth of luxury cars with stolen credit cards before on-selling them at a lower price.
The crime syndicate is accused of fraudulently obtaining six luxury cars each valued at more than $80,000.

During the police investigation, detectives also received information relating to the fraudulent acquisition of personal loans and mobile phones.
