A special COVID-19 vaccination clinic was held Saturday in Howell, exclusively targeting school personnel.
600 doses of the vaccine were set aside by the Livingston County Health Department for the clinic, which was held at Howell High School and coordinated through the Livingston Educational Service Agency. LESA Superintendent Mike Hubert tells WHMI that the âcollaborative effortâ involved leaders of the countyâs traditional public schools, public school academies and private schools.
Hubert says that, âBecause of the leadership provided by the Livingston County Health Department we were extended the opportunity to help coordinate the sign up of school personnel from across the county. It was not limited to just teachers it was all school personnel, so teacher assistants, food service, transportation, and every other classification of employees working day in and day out to ensure Livingston County can offer in person lear

Livingston County residents can get free COVID-19 masks at a drive-thru event tomorrow at a local senior center.
The Livingston County Health Department has partnered with Hamburg Township to set up a drive-thru mask distribution site after receiving an allotment of KN95 masks from the state to provide to the public. The drive-thru event is open to all Livingston County residents. Both adult and youth size masks are available.
Hamburg Township Clerk Mike Dolan tells WHMI the masks are packaged in groups of ten so theyâre basically handing out ten per individual. However, he says if anyone comes through and would like to pick some up for family, friends, or neighbors or knows anyone with income challenges or an inability to get out â by all means let them know and theyâll be happy to give out more as they want to get them into peopleâs hands so they can wear them.

PONTIAC – Nineteen residents of Livingston County and one inmate at Pontiac Correctional Center (PCC) have tested positive for COVID-19 (coronavirus disease). Livingston County Health Department (LCHD) officials were notified of the new COVID-19 cases on January 20, 2021 in accordance with state and local public health protocol. LCHD officials continue to work closely with the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), and have investigated and notified any individuals who may have had exposure to these individuals who tested positive for COVID-19. As of January 20, 2021, the LCHD has received 57,276 COVID-19 test results. Of that, 3,673 COVID-19 tests have been positive, 53,603 tests were negative, 3,404 of the previously reported cases have been removed from isolation, 206 cases remain active, and, sadly, 63 cases have resulted in death due to complications related to COVID-19.
