Area counties report 53 new cases of COVID-19 and 70 COVID-19 related deaths COVID-19 cases have increased by 12 in Harrison County since December 16 th, which the health department says brings the total 584. Active cases went up by eight to 43. Eleven COVID-19-related deaths have been reported for Harrison County. The Putnam County Health Department reports 11 new COVID-19 cases were added on December 17 th, making the total 331. Fifty-four cases are under public health monitoring. There have been five COVID-19-related deaths for Putnam County. The health department notes it is seeing an uptick in cases about two weeks after gathering and trips that tended not to allow for social distancing.

There are nine current hospitalizations for Livingston County.
