At 1:07 a.m., Officers were dispatched to a business alarm in the 400 block of S. Mitchell Ave. Officers discovered there was no emergency.
At 3:27 a.m., A citizen contacted the police department and initially was requesting to speak with an officer but changed their mind and stated they would call back if there was a problem.
At 3:53 a.m., Officers conducted a well-being check in the 1200 block of Polk St. The person was found okay.
At 4:48 a.m., A citizen contacted the police department with questions about an investigation from another jurisdiction. The person was referred to that jurisdiction.

DETROIT – Dowan Knighton, 47, is in jail in connection with the recently discovered remains of 29-year-old Kayla Pierce of Livingston County.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy charged Knighton with mutilation of a dead body, concealing the death of an individual and tampering with evidence.
All of this started with a call to police. Detroit police said Pierce’s mother reported her missing on Nov. 24, 2020.
A few months later, Local 4 cameras were on the scene Thursday as officers with the Detroit police, Michigan State Police and the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department found her remains in Detroit on Feb. 11 at about 8 p.m.

A man has been charged after the remains of a missing Livingston County woman were found Thursday in Detroit.
The remains of Kayla Pierce, 29, were found 8 p.m. Thursday in Detroit, according to a release from the office of Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy. The exact location of the discovery was not disclosed.
Dowan Knighton, 47, of Detroit was arrested at the scene and, on Sunday, he was arraigned on charges of mutilation of a dead body, concealing the death of an individual and tampering with evidence.
Pierce’s mother reported her missing on November 24, 2020, according to the release. The Detroit Police Department, alongside Michigan State Police and the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, found Pierce’s remains.
