LISBON Students at David Anderson High School have been given the all clear to start a field research project on the historic Sandy and Beaver Canal in Willow Grove Park.
During Tuesday’s village council meeting, Councilwoman Dawn Thomas said a state grant will be funding these projects for all of the schools along the 73-mile long canal in Ohio. A STEM teacher from DAHS contacted Thomas to get permission to begin the project, and Thomas brought it before council where it was approved unanimously. Students will be collecting and studying soil samples from along the bank of the canal and will begin the project this spring.
