New Jersey’s preliminary snow totals show that what could have been an unprecedented walloping was instead a fairly typical winter storm. But just because New Jersey didn’t get mountains of snow doesn’t mean other parts of the northeast weren’t buried.
Some areas in New York set records for two-day snow totals, and received nearly half of the snow they get in a typical season overnight, Paul Walker, a meteorologist with AccuWeather, told NJ Advance Media Thursday morning.
That stands in contrast to New Jersey, where snow totals across the northern part of the state, including Warren and Sussex Counties, were on the lower end of the range according to the most recent reports.
