A FURTHER two Covid-19-related hospital deaths were reported in the Bradford district yesterday. According to the latest NHS figures, Airedale NHS Foundation Trust reported two deaths, while Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust reported no deaths. The two deaths at Airedale were both reported on Wednesday, January 27. It means that the total number of hospital deaths in the district, according to NHS England figures, now stands at 742 - 517 at Bradford Teaching Hospitals, 223 at Airedale and two at Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust. Elsewhere in West Yorkshire, Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust reported four deaths, Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust reported two deaths and Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust reported 13 deaths.
A total of eighty seven people currently require intensive care. Hospital trusts in West Yorkshire and Harrogate collectively release the information at 2pm on a Thursday every week, to provide an overview of the current position within the regional and local NHS. The latest figures show a reduction in numbers on last week at both Airedale NHS Foundation Trust and Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Airedale had seen its numbers of Covid-19 patients triple in just two weeks from 31 patients on January 7 to 93 last week, though this now appears to be falling. The figure today stands at 84. There are four fewer patients at Bradford Teaching Hospitals, from 125 last Thursday to 121 today.

The 6-year, €70 million project called BIGPICTURE, will herald a new era in pathology.

Four patients died at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust - three patients died on January 25 while one death took place on January 26.
Bradford Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust recorded two deaths - taking place individually on January 25 and January 26. It means that the total number of hospital deaths in the district, according to NHS England figures, now stands at 737 - 517 at Bradford Teaching Hospitals, 221 at Airedale and two at Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust.
