SKERRITT AND SHALLOW FOR CWI 2ND TERM
Cricket West Indies President, Ricky Skerritt and Vice President, Dr. Kishore Shallow have officially launched their bid for a second two-year term, with promises to build on the 1st term of their leadership of regional cricket.
Under a campaign slogan “Forward ‘WI’ Go”, Skerritt and Dr. Shallow have promised to continue to lead the fight for organizational modernization, including greater transparency, accountability, and partnership with all stakeholders, designed to support and prepare for achieving the best possible on-field results.
Skerritt said he and Dr. Shallow would also continue to battle against petty boardroom politics and territorial insularity, two of the biggest enemies of West Indies cricket progress. They are being challenged by Guyana Cricket Board’s Secretary, Anand Sanasie and Barbados Cricket Association Vice President, Calvin Hope.

Cricket West Indies (CWI) President, Ricky Skerritt, said that there have been pros and cons associated with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, adding that the way his administration functioned throughout the last year of his two-year term was affected either way.
Speaking recently on the
Good Morning Jojo Sports Show, Skerritt said however that his administration has found creative ways to get the job done.
“Covid in the second year, certainly threw a lot of things off track in terms of just our ability to get together. The platform like Zoom, that came about were very good in allowing us to have communication and there were areas where we did better than we thought we could. CWI must forge partnerships

Cricket West Indies cannot do it all on its own where the development of regional cricket for both men and women is concerned, says veteran cricket administrator Vernon Springer.
He is therefore suggesting that CWI look to attract partners to come on board and help ease the situation when it comes to the development of the sport regionally.
“Everybody is looking to Cricket West Indies. Cricket West Indies has an Under-15, Under-17, and Under-19, they now have a professional set up where you play two formats which are the 50 over and also the four-day competition. They were thinking about launching a women’s under-19 and you have the women’s program. Now where are they going to fit in a 13 and under tournament,” Springer asked?
