Lufthansa Innovation Hub spins off mobility startup RYDES
Lufthansa Innovation Hub’s mobility startup brand RYDES has released new functionalities, enabling travellers to find and book different elements of transport.
Lufthansa Innovation Hub has spun off its RYDES brand, a mobility startup that was originally founded in 2018.
The app was initially designed to reward travellers for using public transport services and enabled them to use reward points for free minutes on transport, free coffee or build them up for Amazon vouchers.
RYDES has now released new functionalities, enabling travellers to find and book different elements of transport. The startup bundles existing mobility offers in one app and makes them accessible via the “Mobility Budget”.

COLOGNE (dpa-AFX) - The Lufthansa Innovation Hub, the central digitalization unit of the Lufthansa Group, spins-off the startup RYDES.
Porsche has acquired a stake in RYDES via Forward31, the company builder of Porsche Digital. Both Porsche and the Lufthansa Group are now strategic minority shareholders in the startup.
RYDES launches a new product that allows users to access and book different mobility services from one app.
RYDES was founded in 2018 as part of the Lufthansa Innovation Hub. The company s initial business idea focused on developing a loyalty program that rewards people for using different mobility services.

President-elect Joe Biden says he has an ambitious climate change strategy, with his advisers promising “a whole government approach” to addressing the rapidly worsening crisis.
