Chattanooga s Boyd s Speedway saw action with Robby Mason of Hixson winning the Late Model feature over Tod Hernandez and Josh Walker. In the 604/Crate Main Event Knoxville s Eli Beets (#109) was victorious over Jesse Lowe and Booger Brooks.
The track celebrates the late Joe Lee Johnson next Friday night with a memorial race sanctioned by the Topless Outlaw Late Model series paying $2,500 to win. Johnson was the winner of NASCAR s first ever race at Charlotte Motor Speedway in 1960. He was the longtime owner of the now defunct Cleveland Speedway. After Boyd s next Friday the Topless series heads to Rhea County s new Mountain View Raceway in Dayton/Spring City just north of Chattanooga.

Last year s hottest racer Jimmy Owens (#20) of Newport, Tn., picked up an elusive 2021 victory Saturday night at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville as the Spring Nationals series invaded the XL 3/8 s mile clay oval.
The $10,053 victory came ahead of Brandon Overton of Evans, Ga., whom like Owens, isn t having a great season like 2020 was last year.
Points leader Dale McDowell of Chickamauga was third overall, with Mike Marlar of West Tennessee and Donald McIntosh of Dawsonville rounding out the top five finishers.

Taking his second consecutive win of the weekend (the first coming at his home track in Chattanooga, Friday night) Booger Brooks (#48) won Wartburg (TN) Speedway s 604/Crate Late Model Special Saturday.
Brooks overtook Virginian bad-boy Logan Roberson on the 26th lap for the $2,000 victory. Chickamauga s Dale McDowell was 4th behind winner Tanner English of Kentucky at Clarksville Speedway, north of Nashville Saturday. Cleveland s John Ownbey was seventh overall.
Landon Britt (#10) of Memphis was victorious over Friday night s winner Californian Jared Horstman in Rock Auto USCS Sprint Car competition Saturday night at I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater.

The Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model series Winternationals wrapped up Tuesday night at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala with its second consecutive $10,000 to-win 40 lap feature despite unprecedented cold weather for the central Florida area.
The Georgia Giant Shane Clanton fought and scratched his Skyline Motorsports / Capital race car team to their first LODLM series victory in over a year, despite be afflicted with the COVID-19 disease recently that came close to sidelining the Fayetteville, Ga. racer for the first few events. Luckily Clanton didn t have to miss any series races, despite being close to 30 pounds underweight.

Former two-time NASCAR champ Tony Stewart s All Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Car Series invaded South Georgia s Screven Motor Speedway this weekend bringing Winged Outlaws to the state for the first time in 2021 for a pair of events.
Over 30,410 powered race teams entered and in the end North Dakota s Donny Schatz (#15) and Texan Aaron Reutzel (#83) took the respective checkers at the 1/3 mile red clay dirt track east of Macon.
Screven hosts multiple events during Speedweeks leading up to the running of the Daytona 500. Next weekend another pair of events take place for Super Late Models as the Southern All-Stars and the Ultimate series share the ultra fast track.
