The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported Friday 9,320 additional, new cases of COVID-19 across the state, and 216 more deaths attributed to the coronavirus disease.
The new cases bring Pennsylvania’s total, cumulative case count to 538,655 cases or coronavirus since March. The death toll now stands at 13,607 lives lost to the pandemic.

With 9,320 new cases, the state’s total case count continues to increase, sitting at 538,655, but Friday’s increase is still well below the new case numbers from each of the last two Fridays (12,745 on Dec. 11 and 11,763 on Dec. 4).
