The Queen is under pressure to turn her back on grouses shooting across the Royal estates amid growing concern over its impact on the environment.
The Queen owns grouse moors on her Whitewell Estate in the Forest of Bowland and on the North York Moors, including Goathland Estate, via her Duchy of Lancaster.
Environmental groups say grouse shooting encourages damaging practices, including the burning of carbon-storing peatlands, and threatens wildlife and biodiversity.

Sam Austin - Lost to injury during the Trophy defeat to Stamford. Image: Paul France/Write Angle Media RUSS Penn lamented his team’s contrast in performance after they were humbled in the FA Trophy, going down 1-0 at Stamford. The Reds slumped out of the Trophy at the first time of asking – just as they did in the FA Cup this term with an upset at Alvechurch – leaving them with just National League North action to focus on. This all came just days after a tremendous showing to pick up three points at Gateshead.
