NEW ORLEANS The sixth and final juvenile who escaped from the Bridge City Center for Youth has been apprehended.
According to the Louisiana Office of Juvenile Justice, the final escapee, identified only as a 17-year-old from New Orleans, was apprehended in New Orleans around 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 29.
Six youth escaped around midnight on Wednesday from the facility located in Bridge City, La. During the escape, one staff member was hurt and was later treated and released from a local hospital.
Investigators said four of the escapees were taken into custody in Lafayette Parish around 9 a.m. Another escapee was caught in Jefferson Parish at around 4:30 p.m.

BRIDGE CITY On Thursday morning, investigators are still searching for one of six youths who escaped from a Jefferson Parish correctional facility for underage offenders, the other five have already been apprehended, WWL-TV reports.
According to The Louisiana Office of Juvenile Justice, the six escaped from the Bridge City Center for Youth (BCCY) overnight Wednesday during an incident that left a staff member with non-life threatening injuries.
WWL-TV reports that four of the escapees were taken into custody in Lafayette Parish around 9 a.m., and a fifth was caught in Jefferson Parish at around 4:30 p.m.

Four juveniles who escaped from a youth detention center in Bridge City were found in Lafayette, authorities said.
Six juveniles escaped the Bridge City Center for Youth at about midnight Wednesday, according to a release from the Louisiana Office of Juvenile Justice.
During the incident, one staff member was injured, taken to a local hospital for treatment and later released.
At about 9 a.m. Wednesday, four of the juveniles were taken into custody in Lafayette Parish, which is about two and half hours west of the detention center.
Lafayette Police, the Lafayette Parish Sheriff s Office, Abbeville Police, the Vermilion Parish Sheriff s Office and Louisiana State Police assisted in the apprehension.
