Homicide investigation underway after skeletal remains found in 2018 identified as Louisiana woman Erica Nicole Hunt who vanished four years ago

NBC Human remains found in a rural area of Evangeline Parish, Louisiana in 2018 have been identified as belonging to Erica Nicole Hunt, an Opelousas woman reported missing in 2016, the Louisiana State Police Department announced last week.
The skeletal remains were found during a search for a missing child at the time, but not identified until two years later through the efforts of the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab, the LSU Forensic Anthropology and Computer Enhancement Services (FACES) Laboratory and the DNA Doe Project, Louisiana State Police Troop I spokesman Thomas Gossen stated in the release.

MARRERO (WVUE) -Two people were killed Saturday night when they stopped to render aid to a car crash victim, according to Louisiana State Police.
A state police spokesman says around 9:40 pm, troopers investigated a fatal crash on US 90B eastbound near the intersection of MacArthur Avenue in Jefferson Parish.
The crash killed 53-year-old Ruby Roman of Harvey and another person who has not been identified.
La. State Police say the car crash resulted in that vehicle being disabled in the roadway.

EVANGELINE PARISH - Authorities are investigating a homicide after discovering human remains that are connected to a woman s disappearance from 2016.
Erica Nicole Hunt went missing on July 4, 2016. Authorities later found skeletal remains in December of 2018 in Evangeline Parish.
Investigators with the Louisiana State Police Department were able to confirm a forensic match to Hunt after years of investigation, officials announced Friday.
The Louisiana State Police Crime Lab, LSU Faces Lab, and the DNA Doe Project also worked on the case.
The Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations, with support from the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office, St Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office, and the Opelousas Police Department, are asking for the public’s help in providing information related to the July 4, 2016,disappearance of Erica Nicole Hunt of Opelousas.
