The heads of the organization, identified as 48-year-old Lamar Weeden of Parks, LA and 41-year-old Willie Alfred Sr. of Jeanerette, LA, were arrested on Monday April 19, 2021.

Winnsboro police officer charged with public bribery, abuse of office

Special to USA Today Network FRANKLIN PARISH  A Winnsboro police lieutenant was charged with public bribery and abuse of office after reportedly soliciting sex and money from a woman involved in a car crash. In March, the Franklin Parish Sheriff’s Office asked the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations to handle a complaint involving a Winnsboro Police Lieutenant, identified as Terrance Pleasant, 47.  As a result of the investigation, Pleasant was indicted by a grand jury on Monday on one count of public bribery and one count of abuse of office.        The investigation was initiated from a complaint received by a driver involved in a two-vehicle crash in Winnsboro. The female driver, who was not at fault in the crash, alleged Pleasant solicited sexual favors and money to provide a favorable report for her insurance.

(WAFB) - Louisiana State Police say a lieutenant with the Winnsboro Police Department has been arrested on charges of public bribery and one count of abuse of office. According to state police, in March of 2021, the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations was requested by the Franklin Parish Sheriff’s Office to investigate a complaint involving a Winnsboro police lieutenant. He was identified as 47-year-old Terrance Pleasant. LSP says the investigation initiated from a complaint received by a driver involved in a two-vehicle crash investigated by Pleasant in Winnsboro.
