He was born October 23, 1944 in Steubenville, the son of the late John D. Hughes and Illeen (Snyder) Hughes. Gary was a member of the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church of Toronto; was a 1963 graduate of Toronto High School; was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a big Ohio State and Cleveland Brown’s fan and loved being with his grandchildren every chance he had including at their sporting events. He loved hanging out with the guys at Tim Starr’s service station.
