Parson Appoints First Black Woman to Missouri Supreme Court Gov. Mike Parson has appointed the first Black woman to serve as a Missouri Supreme Court judge. The Republican governor on Monday named Missouri Eastern District Appeals Court Judge Robin Ransom to the high court. She’s replacing Judge Laura Denvir Stith, who retired in March. Ransom will join Chief Justice George Draper as the second Black judge currently serving on the Supreme Court. She doesn’t need Senate confirmation. Former Republican Gov. Matt Blunt first appointed Ransom to serve as a St. Louis County circuit judge in 2008. Parson appointed her in 2019 to serve as an appeals court judge.

She will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of the Honorable Laura Denvir Stith in early March. “Appointing a judge to the Supreme Court of Missouri is an important duty that I do not take lightly. I am proud and honored to name Judge Robin Ransom as the newest member of the state’s highest court,” Governor Parson said. “Judge Ransom will add valuable experience, perspective, and balance to the court. I have high confidence that she will continue to be a fair enforcer of the law, faithfully interpret the law as written, and reasonably consider decisions made at the trial and appellate level in her own evaluation.”

15-Year-Old Accused in Robbery, Rape of Woman Was Wearing An Ankle Monitor On 5/19/21 at 5:31 PM EDT A 15-year-old boy in St. Louis County, Missouri was charged as an adult on Tuesday for allegedly kidnapping, raping and robbing a woman in September. Antoine Dillon was wearing a GPS-enabled ankle monitoring bracelet while he committed the alleged acts of violence, according to court documents first obtained by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Dillon was certified as an adult in St. Louis County Circuit Court on charges of first-degree kidnapping, first-degree rape, first-degree robbery, first-degree sodomy and four counts of armed criminal action. Dillon allegedly entered the woman s St. Louis County home and held her at gunpoint as she was entering at 11 p.m. in late September, according to the charges. He then abducted her, forcing her to drive her vehicle to a second location where he then raped her at gunpoint.
