Family and friends of a 19-year-old Virginia man fatally shot by St. Louis County authorities Dec. 5 are speaking out in search of answers.
The family of Estavon Elioff took part in a rally Monday in Mountain Iron, where roughly two dozen people challenged the prevailing silence since the shooting by two St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office deputies.
Elioff’s first cousin, Maria Krulich, 20, of Virginia, attended the protest and told the News Tribune it was only the beginning.

Nicholas Cramer, 53, is asking for a so-called âFranks hearingâ to invalidate the search warrants four months after a judge denied his motion to dismiss the intentional murder charge filed in June. In a filing last week, public defender Bhupesh Pattni said his client is arguing that law enforcementâs applications for the warrants âcontain statements which are false and which were made with the reckless disregard for the truth, and consist of material omissions.â

DULUTH A Duluth man has been arrested and is awaiting formal second-degree murder charges in the death of a 3-year-old child.
Jordan William Carter, 30, was taken into custody by Duluth police for charges relating to the child s death.
Officers responded to the scene of an unresponsive child on Sept. 4. According to a report from the Duluth Police Department, the child was immediately taken to a hospital but, due to the severity of injuries, was transported to the Children s Minnesota hospital in Minneapolis. Lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful and the child was pronounced dead on Sept. 6.

A 30-year-old Duluth man has been arrested in connection to the death of a 3-year-old child.
In a news release, the Duluth Police Department says they took the 30-year-old man into custody on Thursday, Dec. 17. He is awaiting formal charges by the St. Louis County Attorney s Office.
The arrest came a few days after the Hennepin County Medical Examiner s Office ruled the child s death a homicide.
According to the release, Duluth police officers responded to a report of an unresponsive child on the 4700 block of East Colorado Street at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 4.
