WOOD RIVER Five Madison County deaths were among the 98 COVID-19 related fatalities announced Monday by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH). The IDPH report included the Madison County deaths of two men in their 70s, two men in their 80s and a woman in her 90s. The state report followed a weekend total of 11 COVID-19 related deaths reported by the Madison County Health Department. The department reported six deaths on Sunday two men in their 70s, three men in their 80s and a woman in her 90s as well as a man in his 90s on Saturday and four deaths on Friday: a man in his 70s and women in their 60s, 70s and 90s.

Six deaths were reported Sunday: two men in their 70s, three men in their 80s and a woman in her 90s. On Saturday the department reported the death of a man in his 90s. On Friday it reported four deaths: a man in his 70s and women in their 60s, 70s and 90s. To date, 340 people have died in Madison Count from COVID-19. The department has reported 18,838 confirmed and probable cases, including 143 on Sunday, 265 on Saturday and 334 on Friday. It also reported 1,506 tests on Sunday, 1,263 on Saturday and 1,713 on Friday. To date, the county has reported 178,925 tests.
