Focussing on Modern Applications Development, the Assured Skills Academy will see participants receive industry-relevant pre-employment training with Belfast Met from 12 April to 6 July.
Participants who complete the Academy are guaranteed a job interview for a role at Microsoft in Belfast.
Highlighting the opportunity, the Minister said, “I am pleased to announce this Assured Skills Academy with Microsoft and Belfast Met.
“This is the second Assured Skills Academy with the company after it established a Cyber Security Centre in Belfast in January 2020.
“This Academy is an excellent opportunity for people to reskill for a role at a global software company.
“And I urge anyone who is interested and eligible to apply.”
The investment will see the audit, tax, consulting and deal advisory firm establish a new Centre of Excellence in Belfast, which will deliver a new range of digital consultancy services in major growth areas including Cyber Security, Applied Intelligence (AI) and Digital Transformation for clients in Great Britain and Ireland.
Welcoming the investment, the Minister said, “Today’s announcement of 200 new jobs by KPMG is excellent news for Northern Ireland’s burgeoning professional and financial services sector.
“KPMG established its first office here in 1974 and has since demonstrated its commitment to Northern Ireland time and time again as its operation here has continued to grow.

KPMG is investing £14m in its Belfast operations and will focus on digital consultancy services in cybersecurity, applied intelligence and digital transformation.
One of the world’s largest accounting firms, KPMG, is expanding its base in Northern Ireland.
The company is investing £14m in its Belfast operations and creating 200 new roles. It is establishing a new centre of excellence, which will deliver a range of digital consultancy services in growing areas such as cybersecurity, applied intelligence and digital transformation.
Many new recruits will come through the Northern Ireland Department of the Economy’s Assured Skills training programme, which helps individuals upskill for job vacancies.
Participants in the academy will receive industry-relevant pre-employment training from Belfast Met and Ulster University over four weeks.
Those who successfully complete the academy are guaranteed an interview for a role at FinTrU.
Highlighting the opportunity, the Minister said, “FinTrU is a successful and growing local employer and I am very pleased that my Department is once again working in close partnership with the company to offer an Assured Skills Academy.
“Assured Skills Academies have a strong track record of providing high-quality training while also providing local businesses with the skills and talent they need to grow.
