PAACAR Parts building Louisville Riverport Authority facility, 80 jobs

Associated Press View Comments LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) A distributor for after-market truck, trailer, bus and engine parts is building a new facility in Kentucky and expects to create 80 full-time jobs. PACCAR Parts’ $52.2 million distribution center will be in Louisville Riverport Authority’s Phase 5 development, Gov. Andy Beshear’s office announced. The company is a division of the Bellevue, Washington-based PACCAR Inc. The company makes light-, medium- and heavy-duty trucks under the Kenworth, Peterbilt and DAF names. Officials broke ground on the facility Thursday. It is the company’s 19th parts distribution center and is expected to be in operation next year.

April 5, 2021 By Shelley Byrne The second freight conference geared toward Kentucky’s public riverports included a focus on their emerging markets and how to take advantage of potential economic development opportunities. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet presented the Kentucky Summit on Economic Development Strategies to Leverage Kentucky Riverports and Freight Network virtually March 24-26. A third conference is planned within a few months. (Previous coverage of the summit is here.) In a session titled “Forecasting the Future of Kentucky’s Freight Economy,” Paul Bingham, director of transportation consulting for IHS Markit, and Chandler Duncan, project manager for Metro Analytics, sought to provide information the ports can act upon.
