(WAVE) - Louisville Metro Health officials confirm they are now seeing the first cases of COVID-19 from people who attended the Kentucky Derby. There were so few people wore masks. However, doctors claim it’s too early to know what these new cases could mean. “People usually develop symptoms two to 14 days after contracting the disease so we’re still in the early stages here collecting data,” Dr. Sarah Moyer, the director of the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness, explained. “We have had a handful of cases to report attending Derby when they were in that infectious period.”
