A severely malnourished dog abandoned at the Kentucky Humane Society is learning how to stand and use his legs again, the group said in their latest update. Ethan has no muscles to speak of after severe starvation, KHS said in a post.  The hospital staff are encouraging him to stand and move his legs so he can start to use his limbs again.

Veterinarians at the Kentucky Humane Society are working to save a dog s life after he was dumped at a Louisville shelter on Friday in critical condition. Someone was dropping off donations at the organization s Main Campus at 241 Steedly Drive around noon when they found the dog laying in the parking lot and alerted staff. The dog, who KHS staff named Ethan, was too weak to even lift his head, the nonprofit said in a statement.

According to a series of Facebook posts from the Kentucky Humane Society (KHS), a dying dog was left in the parking lot of the organization Friday.  The dog was found after a person dropping off donation items discovered it and immediately alerted KHS staff.  Staff rushed the dog, who has been named Ethan, to their veterinary services and began work to try and save his life.
