LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) â Lexington reported 330 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, according to the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department.
The city has had 24,680 cases and 165 deaths since the outbreak began in March.
The health department is asking residents to help stop the spread of COVID-19 by following these guidelines:
Wear a cloth face-covering in public
Avoid close contact with others
Wash your hands often
Stay home if you are sick.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) â There hasnât been much to celebrate inside Kentuckyâs long-term care facilities over the last ten months, so even something as routine as a vaccination is cause for celebrations.
Staff members at Lexingtonâs Sayre Christian Village assisted living center applauded, as two residents made their way down the hallway to the nurseâs station to receive the first of their two COVID-19 vaccine doses.
âOne of the things we do is we kind of adopt these folks as family members, and that includes hugging them, or comforting them,â said Marie Wilson of Sayre Christian Village. âThatâs probably been one of the hardest things (about COVID-19).

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) â Lexington reported 218 new COVID-19 cases and two new deaths Tuesday, according to the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department.
The city has had 24,350 total cases and 165 deaths since the outbreak began in March.
LFCHD is asking residents to help slow the spread of COVID-19 by following these guidelines:
Wear a cloth face-covering in public
Avoid close contact with others
Wash your hands often
Stay home if you are sick.

Lexington-Fayette County Health department vandalized overnight

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) â Lexington police are investigating a suspected vandalism that occurred overnight at the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department.
The LFCHD said there is no structural damage, just cosmetic damage to the building.
The health department did not confirm whether a suspect was caught on the building s security camera.

CIS provides a safe space for kids in Lexington to promote education and deter youth violence. Even through the pandemic, co-founder and CEO Rebecca Webb said they have been able to continue that mission.
